Barrel-Aged Coffee Collaboration

You don’t want to miss this truly unique coffee experience… It began with aging our Burundi coffee beans in a bourbon barrel for 45 days. The barrels are kindly donated from local breweries, distilleries, and wineries including:

  • Four Peaks bourbon barrels — the O.G. Bourbon Barrel Burundi (aka BBB)

  • OHSO bourbon, rum, tequila, and cognac barrels.

  • Adventuras Distillery agave barrels.

  • Rune Winery white and red wine barrels.

There will be more to come! Swing by the cafe and have one of our baristas make you a BBB using one of our 6 slow bar methods, try our BBB cold drip, or buy a bag to brew at home!

Eco-Friendly Coffee Donations

Coffee comes from the Earth and we try to do our part to complete the cycle of giving back to the Earth through local donations.

  • Phoenix Zoo: A portion of our leftover coffee jute bags go to our friends at the local zoo. The Phoenix Wildlife Zoo is able to reuse these bags to aid with animal training.

  • Desert Botanical Garden: Another portion of our leftover coffee jute bags are donated to the beautiful botanical garden to use as a cover for the plants!

  • Rhibafarms: We make sure our used coffee grounds and chaff don’t go to waste! We donate them to a local farm to be used as fertilizer.

INTERNATIONAL BARISTA & COFFEE ACADEMY

Infusion Coffee & Tea is home to the International Barista & Coffee Academy (IBCA). Founded by Patrick O’Malley, IBCA was the first SCA authorized coffee academy in the Americas! IBCA has taught students from all over the United States and countries around the world to improve their skills, grow their current coffee business, or gain new skills to start a career in coffee. Patrick has a deep knowledge and passion for coffee that he passes on to every single one of his students. This is at the heart of his mission to provide an educational experience that goes above and beyond the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Coffee Diploma requirements. When you take a course with IBCA, you learn what this dynamic coffee guru knows you need to know based on his over 30 years of expertise.

INTERNATIONAL BARISTA & COFFEE ACADEMY DUBAI

The demand for quality coffee education is high, and word spread fast that IBCA’s courses went above and beyond to educate students in every facet of the coffee industry. In May 2019, Patrick partnered with Sanremo Coffee Machines UAE to open a second training center in Dubai, Deira, UAE. ESPRESSO ITALIA

Espresso Italia distributes a variety of products, including Infusion’s very own roasted coffee and blended teas, for cafes, bars, restaurants, and hotels in Arizona and the surrounding states.

Espresso Italia also provides espresso machines from SanRemo, La Cimbali, and La Nuova Era along with Bunn coffee and tea equipment, barista accessories, sauces, syrups, and powders to complete any business’ coffee and tea offerings. Their technicians have over 50 years of combined experience and offer service, install, as well as regular preventative maintenance for espresso, coffee, and tea equipment ranging from brewing equipment to water filtration, cold brew, and nitro setups—all of any make and any model.

BREWSED DOCUMENTARY

Patrick O’Malley teamed up with SnakeByte Media to film and produce a documentary to educate more people on the impact of the coffee industry. The film covers everything from coffee festivals and expos to an up-close and personal look at the underpaid and under-recognized farmers carrying the entire industry. Because the coffee industry affects the economic livelihood of 25 million people, the documentary is aimed at bringing that awareness to consumers who have the purchasing power to influence coffee companies towards more direct trade coffee, resulting in better wages for farmers, more sustainable practices, and higher quality coffee.
