Born in Tucson and raised in Bisbee, Arizona, Patrick's journey began with a focus on winemaking. However, a job repairing espresso machines in Hawaii introduced him to coffee, leading him to open his own espresso machine repair business in 1989. He expanded to roasting coffee and curating teas, creating his wholesale business in 1998. Espresso Italia’s ( now Infusion Distribution) coffees and teas are now served in around 500 Arizona cafes, restaurants, and hotels.

Patrick's dedication led him to become the 43rd person worldwide to earn a Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Diploma in 2010. In 2012, he founded the International Barista & Coffee Academy (IBCA) to train others. In 2015, Infusion Coffee & Tea Crafters opened, connected to IBCA. Today, IBCA and Infusion Coffee & Tea are housed at our flagship location in Tempe, Arizona.

Patrick received SCA Trainer of the Year, SCA Distinguished Education Coordinator, and Passionate Educator awards. He travels globally to teach with IBCA, judge coffee competitions, lead coffee voyages with 3 Coffee Guys, consult on Sanremo Coffee Machines, and is currently filming a coffee documentary.
